Our core service area: Apache Junction 85120 and 85119, with Gold Canyon and East Mesa close by.

Apache Junction sits at the eastern edge of the Phoenix area, where US 60 (the Superstition Freeway) meets the Apache Trail (SR 88) and the Superstition Mountains rise behind town. Most of the city is in Pinal County, with a small piece in Maricopa County. That matters for things like permits, which we cover below. You can also read about Apache Junction Water Heater Pros and how we work.

Apache Junction ZIP codes we serve

Apache Junction is our home base, and we've written a dedicated page for each side of town.

Apache Junction 85120

The older west and central side of town, out to Meridian Rd, and home to our office. Leaks here often start in outside-access closets over particleboard floors, or at old gate valves that seize. See our leak repair in west and central 85120.

Apache Junction 85119

The east and north side, from Idaho Rd out to the foothills near Lost Dutchman State Park. Expect garage heaters on rotting wood platforms and supply lines that split on rare freezing nights. See our leak repair in east and north 85119.

Nearby communities we cover

Outside Apache Junction, we also handle water heater leaks, repairs and replacements in these areas. Call to confirm timing for your address.

Gold Canyon (85118)

The US 60 corridor below the Superstition Mountains. Tankless units in golf homes leak from scale, and many leaks turn up when winter residents return. See Gold Canyon water heater leak repair.

East Mesa

ZIP codes 85207, 85209 and 85212, just west across Meridian Rd. Young Eastmark heaters tend to leak at connectors and valves, and some larger 85207 homes run two tanks. See East Mesa water heater leak repair.

San Tan Valley

ZIP codes 85140 and 85143, south of US 60. We handle the same tank, tankless and valve leaks there. See San Tan Valley water heater leak repair.

Queen Creek

ZIP code 85142, with many newer homes, where a young heater that leaks is usually a fitting or valve, not the tank. See Queen Creek water heater leak repair.

Superior & Queen Valley

Superior (85173) is the old mining town east along US 60, past Florence Junction. Queen Valley (85118) is a small community off Queen Valley Rd near Florence Junction. See Superior water heater leak repair.

What's different about water heaters in this area?

Wherever you are in our service area, the same local conditions wear on water heaters. Knowing them helps you spot trouble early.

How hard is the water around Apache Junction?

Very hard, at roughly 13–16 grains per gallon from either local supplier, so sediment builds up in tanks all across our area; our Apache Junction hard water page explains the sources and what to do.

How does the desert climate affect water heaters?

July highs average about 105°F, so garage and outdoor-closet heaters run hot for months. Monsoon season, June 15 to September 30, brings outages that can trip a heater's reset or breaker, and surges that can damage thermostats or controls. Winter nights average about 42°F, but they've dropped into the high teens, which can crack exposed lines on outdoor closets.

Why are mobile homes such a big part of the job here?

About 46% of the homes in Apache Junction are mobile or manufactured homes. Their water heaters are often smaller, in tight closets reached from outside, and gas models must be listed for manufactured-home use. See our mobile home water heater repair page, or our park model water heater page for the small RV-style units in the resorts.

Does the winter population change anything?

Yes. Apache Junction's population of about 40,000 roughly doubles to around 80,000 each winter. Many seasonal homes sit empty all summer, so October and November bring a wave of homeowners coming back to leaks that started while they were away. Our snowbird close-up and start-up service helps prevent that.

Permits by area

Whether a replacement needs a permit depends on the job and on where your home is. Apache Junction and Mesa both exempt a like-for-like swap in their codes (equal or lower Btu or amperage, when venting and wiring already meet code), while bigger changes such as a fuel switch, a move or a tankless conversion normally need one. Who handles it:

  • Inside Apache Junction city limits: City of Apache Junction Development Services (Building Safety), 300 E. Superstition Blvd, through the online MyGovernmentOnline (MGO) portal
  • Unincorporated areas near Apache Junction: Pinal County
  • Gold Canyon: Pinal County, since Gold Canyon is unincorporated
  • East Mesa and other towns: their own city or town office, such as the City of Mesa

More detail is in our water heater permit guide. Ask us about permit requirements for your address when you call.

Service area FAQs

Do you charge more to come out to Gold Canyon or East Mesa?

Ask us when you call. The price depends on the job and where you are, and we explain it before any work starts, so there are no surprises when we arrive. Nothing gets fixed until you've heard the price and said yes. Give us your address or cross streets so we can be clear about it from the start.

My address says Mesa but I live near Meridian Rd. Which page applies to me?

Meridian Rd is the line between Mesa and Apache Junction for most addresses. West of it, including the Signal Butte Rd area, you're in Mesa, so see our East Mesa leak repair page. East of it, see the 85120 page. Either way, the same phone number and the same 24/7 service apply.

Do you serve the Superstition foothills?

Yes. Homes heading out toward Lost Dutchman State Park and Goldfield Ghost Town are part of our 85119 coverage. These homes are more spread out, so give us your cross streets when you call. Exposed lines on outside walls out there can split on rare freezing nights, so check the pipes as well as the heater.

Is my park or resort inside Apache Junction city limits?

Not always. Many parks have an Apache Junction mailing address but sit in unincorporated Pinal County, and that decides who handles a water heater permit. Check your property tax record or ask the City of Apache Junction Development Services. Then ask us about permit requirements for your address when you call.

Do you cover San Tan Valley and Queen Creek for leaks?

Yes. We handle leaking tanks, valves, fittings and tankless units in San Tan Valley (85140 and 85143) and Queen Creek (85142). Each town has its own page: San Tan Valley and Queen Creek. Call +1 480-863-0807 with your address and we'll confirm timing. Until we arrive, shut off the cold water to the heater and turn off its power or gas.
